The design concept is integrating situated learning theory, ARCS model and Kinect to design learning activities and learning materials and thereby enhance the learning motivation and learning outcome. The characteristics of the system are as follows: planning and designing learning activity and materials according to the elements of situated learning and ARCS mode; combining virtual objects with a real environment to provide the story-based learning situation for learners. English words of the fruit and vegetables in supermarket are acted as the learning objective, of this study, and 70 students of third to Sixth-grade level at Day Care in Tainan City are recruited as the study participant. In the experiment, the students are divided into an experimental group that employs the system developed in this study and control group receiving traditional teaching. To assess the proposed system, a questionnaire analysis and learning achievement are conducted. The questionnaire includes attention, relevance, confidence and satisfaction.
