Fitness is the most popular activity followed by ball game. In this study, most staffs do regular physical activity. Majority of participants work out twice a week and the duration was 31 to 60 minutes with family members. The strength of exercise was “sweating a little bit”. 2.“Need for achievement“ was the main purpose of doing recreational sport activities followed by “Health needs”,“ psychological needs” and “social needs”. With different background, gender, job title and duty, the reasons of doing recreational sport activity had signification different. In this study, “Need for achievement”, female staffs demonstrated more needs than male. Clerks showed higher motivation and welling to participate recreational sport activates. 3.There was negative relationship between motivation and the motivation. Especially in social distraction and health needs. Also, negative relationship exist between structural distraction and health needs and need for achievement. From our study, correctional institutions may provide a wide range of activities and facilities and encourage staffs to participate leisure activities in order to improve the management in prison.
