Summary: | 碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 經營管理研究所 === 104 === Motivation: Researchers focus on the relationship between physical fitness and academic achievement in primary school students in recent years. However, these researches focus on the relationship between these two items, whether there had difference between varies levels of physical fitness and academic achievement was rarely. Aim: the aim of this study was to investigate the difference between varies levels of physical fitness and academic achievement, and furthermore, we will compare to the mode of high school and primary school in Taiwan 2012. Method: Subjects in this study was one of Kaohsiung primary school students in grade 4 to 6, 1,361 subjects were recruited. The test items include height, weigh, 800m walk-run, sit and reach, standing long jump, sit-ups in 1 minute, and collect grades in Chinese, mathematics, social and science in 104th academic year 1st semester as the academic achievement. We standardized all of the items into t grades, and divide into high(HL), medium(ML) and low level(LL) group. Furthermore, we compared to the mode of high school and primary school in Taiwan 2012. Results: In the difference between varies levels of physical fitness and academic achievement, few parts of academic achievement reveals that HL and ML better than LL students in sit and reach and sit-ups. Most parts of academic achievement reveals that HL and ML better than LL students in 800m walk-run. Besides body mass index (BMI), all of the other items increase which compared to the mode of high school and primary school in Taiwan 2012. Conclusion: 1), this study revealed that there were different degrees of difference in academic achievement between varies levels of physical fitness, particularly in 800m walk-run. 2), the better physical fitness, the better academic achievement more likely, particularly in 800m walk-run. 3), Compared to the mode of high school and primary school in Taiwan 2012, there were different degrees of increase in different ages in sit and reach, standing long jump, sit-ups and 800m walk-run.
