Current studies about this issue mostly focus on people with disabilities themselves instead of their family members. As a result, this research tries to explore family members of people with disability. The research uses qualitative research methodology, by interviewing 14 subjects whose family members are people with learning disability, mental retardation and autism from a resource class in HsinChu Nan Hua Junior High School, the following results are found: 1. Family members of people with learning disability, mental retardation and autism consider living environment when choosing leisure activities. They will choose ones which they are interested in and are also suitable for living environment. 2. Family members of people with mental retardation and autism tend to consider their family member with disability when choosing leisure activities. They will mostly choose outdoor activities with the least constraints. 3. Family members of people with learning disability make good house-work distribution and family members of people with mental retardation and autism tend not to let their family member with disability do complicated works. 4. Behavior of people with learning disability, mental retardation and autism is leisure constraint for their families. 5. How other people view them is leisure constraint for family members of people with learning disability, mental retardation and autism, especially for the last two types.
