| Summary: | 碩士 === 世新大學 === 廣播電視電影學研究所(含碩專班) === 104 === “Parrot Fever” is named by a zoonotic infectious disease. Furthermore, it has been used as a biological weapon. The routes of infection of this disease, is consciously and unconsciously, which is quite similar to the transmission of contemporary information nowadays. The author wants to discuss about the relationships, conditions and sentiments of human beings in both modernism and post-modernism.
This thesis is about the idea and dissertate of the short drama film “Parrot Fever”. In the beginning, the author mentions the ideas and relevance about his works in the past few years, like “Ambiguous Offing” and “The White Rabbit”. Both of those two films talk about the anxiety and dissatisfaction from the urban life. In such this situation, people will try so hard to find the redemption. The author use the theory from Erich Fromm’s "Escape from Freedom” to realize the people who escaped from the society by discussing the connection between modernism and post-modernism.
Besides the traditional filmmaking methods, the author also edited “Parrot Fever” by numerous video clips from daily life and trips. What is very worthy mentioned in here is, the author use very high quality videos which are very different from the amateur filmmakers because they are used to edit with low quality and inaccurate skilled videos. The normal digital camera from nowadays is high-technical enough to shoot a film like professional film camera. By shooting the videos and recording sounds from different contrives and events, the author not only reach creating film from daily life, but also extradite truth and false back and forth in the film.
