This study used the theory of gendered organization to analyze the process of gendered of the military organization, and the soldier's different subjective experiences who were in the executing of the military gender mainstreaming. The analysis included three dimensions, the gender segment of the military structure, the symbols and ideologies of military culture and the interaction of the military personnel. The study adopted qualitative methods and intensive interviews on 6 men and 6 women. There are following four key findings: First, the gender stereotypes still dominate the military assignments and life management, regardless of the ability and specialty. Second, although the gender mainstreaming emphasis on respect for gender differences and the pursuit of gender equality, the existence of segregation such as barracks and assignments has been “normal” in the military. Third, the implementation of gender mainstreaming policies put more emphasis on women’s vulnerabilities and their rights. Paradoxically, the majority of men in the organization turned out to be victims of gender discrimination under the traditional values and the oppression of stereotypical impression. Fourth, although the gender mainstreaming policy is good, but the implementation of policies essentially failed to achieve substantive results, so that some officers and soldiers thought that it was none of my business.
