Despite the countless examples of grievous failures, a large quantity of funds, developers, and operators still fight to get into the business that people who have never been involved would hard to imagine the charm of it. From “monthly payment” to the now dominated “free membership”, is the change of the charging model of online games the result of the balance of “needs and supplies” or of the various and diversified products? This thesis applied in-depth interviews to find out both the ideas of the operators and the consuming psychology of the consumers. From the research, a preliminary understanding of the online game’ s charging model change and the consumer’s consuming behaviors towards both of the charging models would hopefully be achieved.
