Current notebook computer ODM OEM manufacturers are suffering from low growth rate and less and less profit. Therefore, how to cope with this low profit situation and reduce the impact of economic change? This new PC era has brought some potential opportunities (real networking, and cloud commodity, VR (Virtual Reality), Industry 4.0 and so on) to PC industry. However, industry think that "this subject is an important industry category, and industry currently is preparing for changes. In addition, industry will observe the market trend to adjust the strategy from time to time. The point is: industry will make sure the planning and technology are ready and the market has the demand first. From the respond from PC industry management we can know that this new PC industry in under the specification integration stage and this category is one of the areas that NB ODM is planning to step in. This essay will using five force analysis, and diamond type theory, industry vertical integration, and the SWOT analysis, to explore the current notebook computer industry status and the strategy, and analyze the new PC era industry. We expect through this research, we can provide more directions to NB ODMs for operating and strategy for strategy transformation. Under this high-speed growth world and the poor NB/PC environment, PC ODMs need to increase not only the competition of own advantages to provide more value added services, but also adjust the product mix ratio and step in non-NB field. Through a variety of business strategies, NB ODM/OEMs expects to re-gain growths from product diversification as well as more profits. Moreover, this industry will develop and sustainable management in order to respond to technological and scientific challenges posed by rapid changes.
