Abstract
After Kyakhta trade began, Chinese merchant entered Mongolia and traded with Russian and Mongolian. The cities in Mongolia became the commercial center and transport hub for goods.The goal of this study is to inspect the rise and fall of cites on the Zhangjiakou (Kalgan) – Kulun trade route via the prosperity of leather and fur trade and related business.With the help of Kyakhta commercial files stored in the National Archives of the People’s Republic of Mongolia, it is able to discuss the leather and fur trade which China had dealt with Russia and Mongolia from 1800-1930.
