The author’s dog passed away in an accident during the period of experiencing the changes of family from parents moved away and siblings got married. As a result, the author has started a self-healing journey. In the circumstances of leaving and separating, the author has observed the changes in family dynamics, and has deconstructed and re-understood the frame of petting dogs. In the impact of leaving and separating, the author had gradually stepped out of the comfort zone to explore herself. From different perspectives, the author has discovered the different faces of her family members, and then the author has moved toward the differentiation of self and separation. The author’s original family has been through leaving and separating; seemingly no difference on the surface, but has been transformed by the impacting experiences into a “rebirth family.” The original characteristics of family have nothing changed, but the subjectivities of individual members have increased. After the rebirth, the author’s lifetime development has appeared more possibilities and opportunities through the opened-mind and coincidences. The author started exploring spiritually to face the life and death. “Leaving home” and “going home” have no longer bothered the author; they have become happy and natural things for the author instead. Eventually, by removing the frame and burden, the author’s life has become more joyful and comfortable.
