Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 心理學系 === 104 === The main objectives of this study are to investigate the relationship
between positive/negative self-disclosure and romantic relationship
satisfaction as well as to use responsiveness as a mediator. The sample
consisted of 788 college students all over Taiwan. Instruments included
in the research are the“positive self-disclosure Scale”, “negative
self-disclosure Scale”, “responsiveness Scale”, which are compiled by
the researcher, and used the“romantic relationship satisfaction
Scale”which has been translated and compiled. Data were analyzed with
the use of descriptive statistics, t-test, canonical correlation
analysis and hierarchical regression. The key findings are as follows:
1. There is a positive relation between positive self-disclosure and
romantic relationship satisfaction.
2. There is a differentiated relation with gender between negative
self-disclosure and romantic relationship satisfaction.
3. There is a positive relation between responsiveness and romantic
relationship satisfaction.
4. There is a positive relation between positive self-disclosure and
responsiveness.
5. There is a differentiated relation with gender between negative
self-disclosure and responsiveness.
6. There is a responsiveness as a mediator between positive/negative
self-disclosure and romantic relationship satisfaction.
7. There is a responsiveness as a mediated effect between
positive/negative self-disclosure and romantic relationship
satisfaction in both gender.
A number of suggestions for college students and area of
counseling/guidance were proposed on the basis of these findings. In
addition, recommendations for further studies are offered in this thesis.
