碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 社會工作與兒童少年福利學系 === 104 === The purpose of this research is to explore the life experiences of homeless women. The objectives are as follows: (1) To understand the cause of homelessness for women, their needs,as well as the difficulties and challenges they face; (2) To explore the lifestyle adjustmentprocess and life experiences of homeless women; (3) To offer advice from the discoveries of this study to the government, social welfare organizations, families and future researchers as well as call to the attention of society in hopes of giving people a better understanding of the perspectives of homeless women. The researcher used the techniques and steps of Gerald Corey’s narrative therapy as a guideline, asking questions with an open mind and using externalization and deconstruction techniques as participants share their life stories; This helps them realize the boundaries set by social construction, prompting them to search for unique outcomes and sparkling moments in their experiences, and finally to rewrite more positive alternative stories. Research results show that: (1) Multiple familial factors, such as significant accidental incidents, toxic relationships or lack of functions, all contribute to homelessness; (2) The patriarchal society has great influence in creating feelings of passivity and helplessness among women, which they bring into their marriages, creating even huger impacts to their married life; (3) The homeless need emotional outlets; (4) Cognition can be reconstructed and life experiences can also be restructured and reshaped; (5) Social welfare organizations can play a more proactive function and role. Lastly, the researcher offers advice derived from research findings for the government,social welfare organizations and future researchers to help them better understand homeless women.
