Summary: | 碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 化粧品科學系 === 104 === Gromwell (Lithospermum erythrorhizon) is a widely used medicinal plant, consisting of shikonin which has analgesic, hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, sterilization and other effects. Because of it's natural pigments, Gromwell soaked oil is commonly used in soap in recent year, more is expected of coloring and pharmacological effects of both, eventually get disappointed complaints of the dark and grey colors. Because Gromwell only maintain purple in weak alkaline, it must make an effective barrier to resist the base of soap. The study obtain Gromwell extract by using ultrasonic extraction, and then fabricate Gromwell extract-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier. Then, their shape, particle size, encapsulation efficiency, color qualities were analyzed. Finally, pH value, light stability, and implement to handcrafted soap has been test for color retention ability.
The results showed that the Gromwell extract-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier can be successfully prepared. When the higher concentration of liquid lipid, the higher encapsulation efficiency it was. The encapsulation efficiency reached 87.4 %. As for pH value, light stability, and implement to handcrafted soap can revealed that shell materials has no significant protect effect for irradiation but is helpful in retarding the discoloration of Gromwell extract in soap base. Their color wouldn't change until the pH value is higher than pH 11 and with 14 days after. Gromwell extract-loaded nanostructured lipid carrier can protect the handcrafted soap for up to 180 days without fading, and do not easy to lose color. Therefore, the encapsulation of nanostructured lipid carrier was proven that it can provide the color retention of Gromwell handcrafted soap.
