They could promote local economic development, the overall development of the country and people''s lives. Today''s popularity of high-speed vehicles, accompanied by scientific and technological progress increases the chances of traffic accidents on roads which might hide many potential crises. In order to ensure road traffic safety, prevent traffic accidents and reduce the damage after the accident, it is necessary to design a warning system to protect and guide drivers or pedestrian from danger situations resulting from road damages. This study tries to find design problems for road barrier design, and conducts a design project to resolve these problems. Firstly, literature reviews were performed to collect the literatures related to road barriers design. Secondly, product analysis was used to analyze the existing products related to road barriers. Besides, patents were also collect to understand cut-edge design in current time. Finally, followings were the preliminary design guidelines to design a road barrier: First, to offer reflective stickers for warning without lights on roads; second, to prevent detriment of efficiency of reflective stickers from sun exposure, pollution of the environment; third, to afford electric power; fourth, to lock on the ground fastened; fifth, to afford a high-rigidity body, non-impact force mitigation function; sixth, ease to be moved; seventh, to be transported conveniently. Finally, a creative design progress was conducted to create a new warning road barrier. The design process included conceptual design development, rough design, testing with prototyping. Consequently, a new design was created. To assess the appropriateness of the created design, 23 subjects were recruited to evaluate the created design.
