After the mold is taken from the patient’s mouth, it then be used as the coarse mold for further casting and sintering. The shape is then modified by CNC machining to fit in the patient’s mouth. However, it is difficult to confirm the adaptation of dental prostheses components installed in patient’s mouth. If the adaptation of tooth is not suitable, the dental prostheses components will be taken out soon. The reason is that the teeth will be decayed again in the near future and cause bad breath. The traditional steps are not only time-consuming, high cost, but also easily cause patient’s discomfort and medical problems. The 3D printing method to manufacture the human teeth is another good choose. CAE analysis and experimental design are investigated here to predict the shrinkages of different dentures shapes. Then the dentures shapes are reversed amplified. It will be close to patient requirement with precise dentures shape and avoid complicated procedure of CNC machining. However, the shrinkage at the bottom of denture is most important to fit the tooth properly. If the fit isn’t close enough, the bacterial will get into aperture easily to make the teeth being decayed again. It will make the teeth to be removed completely. In the thesis, the cross section of the denture is measured and compared through the 3D printing and sintered to study the fit on the standard mold. The shrinkage rates are then obtained along different directions. The results can be applied to amplify the model of denture for the 3D printing to make the denture closlye to the mold.
