Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄大學 === 國際高階經營管理碩士在職專班(IEMBA) === 104 === The Cuora Flavomarginata (yellow-margined box turtles) are classified as rare and valuable species in Taiwan. They are suffering from habitat loss and degradation. In recent years, they have been rendered extinct as a consequence of hunting and trafficking. Huge amount trafficking occurs every year since 2006. Up to 2015, over 10,000 yellow-margined box turtles hunted or ready to be trafficked have been seized and sheltered. They are usually sought out as food, medicine or pet for foreign states, especially Mainland China. By utilizing the game theory in this study, the author assesses the relationship and decision-making of the authority and dealers with three significant cases examined. With the game theory approach, the author concludes the best strategies for the authority to combat with the trafficking, including suggestions on the enforcement of investigations and amendments.
