A cross-sectional survey will be utilized in this study. Four hundred and eight adult males (aged: 29.32 ± 9.26 years old), who were selected from 8 fitness center in southern Taiwan. After agreeing to participate, all participants were asked to complete a package of inventories, including measures of the muscle dysmorphia questionnaire, social comparison motivation inventory, and body checking behaviors questionnaire. The data will be analyzed by using the product moment correlation, simple regression, and hierarchical regression analysis. The results as following: (1) The muscle dysmorphia, social comparison motivation, and body checking behavior were positively correlated. (2) Mediating results suggested that the self-improvement motivation of social comparison partially attributed the relationship between muscle dysmorphia and global muscle checking, chest and shoulder muscle checking, other-comparative checking, and body measuring behaviors. (3) The self-enhancement motivation of social comparison partially attributed the relationship between muscle dysmorphia and global muscle checking, chest and shoulder muscle checking, and other-comparative checking behaviors. (4) The self-evaluation motivation of social comparison partially attributed the relationship between muscle dysmorphia and global muscle checking and body measuring behaviors. III (5) The belonging demands motivation of social comparison partially attributed the relationship between muscle dysmorphia and chest and shoulder muscle checking, other-comparative checking, and body measuring behaviors. Finally, based on the conclusions of this study is to make specific recommendations for favorite male muscles prevent muscle addiction symptoms reference.
