Specifically, we would like to investigate why nurses have different levels of perceived social support, in other words, why some nurses receive more help than the others, which make them more capable of dealing with job stress. We intend to examine these questions from the perspective of pro-social related theories, and so propose that perceived social support is to do with nurses’ narcissism. Questionnaires are distributed to nurses to collect empirical data. The data is analyzed subsequently by using AMOS computer software. Research results suggest that nurses’ level of narcissism is related to their perceived social support at work, and subsequently has effect on their level of job stress.
