After the construction project completion, the traction power of trains will be fed fully from the electric traction systems. Hence, all the traction power from steam and diesel engines will be replaced. Consequent, to get the dynamic characteristics of the train operation is essential for its considerable impact on the operational performance of electrified railway. Dynamic characteristics of various types of train cars can be obtained according to their characteristic curves of traction power, running resistance, emergency brake force etc. There are many types of train in the Taiwan Railway System, however, only push-pull type, the most widely used train vehicles in Taiwan Railway System is exploited in this study. This thesis adopted the commercial software MATLAB® to develop program for dynamic characteristics simulation and applied Optimus® to optimize the energy consumption of the running trains. Finally, this thesis uses a practical timetables, the train schedules, provided by Taiwan Railway Administration to carry out a series of simulations and analysis of the trains running with several operational scenarios. In addition, this thesis applies GPS Visualizer to create maps and altitude profiles from geographic data for the target railway route, that will help to obtain more accurate daily load curves of the related traction substations and analyzing the energy consumptions of various train operation modes. It is expected that the proposed method and simulation techniques can be applied to reduce the overall operational cost of a railway system. Chen,Zai-Xiang 陳在相 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 94 zh-TW
