Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 電子工程系 === 104 === Nowadays, there is an increasing requirement for HTTP streaming over the mobile network. Lots of online platforms provide multimedia streaming services. We can find that the quantity of videos that few people saw is much more than the one of the popular videos. Hence, it is necessary to save storage on the server due to a large amount of multimedia. It is the same to save when storing these video contents on personal Network Attached Storage (NAS), whose capacity is much limited. Moreover, an efficient HTTP streaming service should adapt to the network condition. Therefore, we proposed a real-time transcoding scheme for Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) based on the Kernel Moving Average (KMA) scheme. KMA is used to estimate the network throughput. The scheme can transcode the video instantly according to the estimated result. Comprehensive experiments validate the concept proposed in this study.
