P2P internet lending platform provides the medium for the exchange of information, providing online services that match lenders directly with borrowers. Through the credit evaluation model, determines different service fees and flexible interest rates. The loan and evaluation model that differs from traditional bank allows lending to have more possibilities and business value. However, it also brings huge pressure to the traditional bank lending business.
The worldwide P2P internet lending industry has existed over 10 years. This study will explore the business development, business flow, risk management and capital investments among six platforms and four models from the United Kingdom, United States of America, China and Taiwan. Through gathering this study, it was revealed that the degree of financial market stability and the completion of the credit system has the different impact on the development of the market. The business development of the P2P lending industry of different countries also developed diverse business model depending on the various level of supervisions.
This study believes that the P2P lending industry can be aggregated through associating platform structure, operation supervision, user relationship and ecosystem environment. The credit system in Taiwan financial environment has already relatively matured. Therefore, Taiwan should be able to provide a good environment for the development of P2P lending industry if Taiwan can effectively integrate the ecosystem environment, increase the ability to respond to credit risk, and refer to the legislative structure of US, UK and China.
