Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 資訊管理系 === 104 === Population is one of the elementary factors to constitute a country while enhancements of human quality and distributions of structure and resource of the population are the focal point to determine the national development. So far as Taiwan is concerned, one of the primary problems now is the tendency of aging population and low fertility that may reduce the population in employment and school attendance; these two issues are not only difficult to be reversed, but also interlocked and interplayed in the relation amid them.
Owing to rapid development of the industrial society, together with emerging of the online economy, general living habits of the populace have been changed. The working place is no longer being confined to the company, instead, workplace exists in anywhere and evolve into a trend to work anytime. Competitions of the soaring prices and the industrial globalization have the modern family structure emerge a sabotaged alteration, which means, the formation of small family becomes even more popular when all family members have to work, or go to school, that gradually and substantially reduces the time for the families in reunion. As the elderly members were obliged to stay at home alone, and the scanty of national nursing institution, most senior citizens are unable to enter the long-term care institution and have to stay alone at home to face the unpredictable challenges and threats.
Hence, this study is to explore the relation between caregiver and senior if there is any motive to apply the Iot onto the homecare service and if the living automation and healthcare system, through the Iot, can create a homecare system of the Iot Smart Home to reinforce the insufficient emerging rescue system for senior citizens. As an emergency occurs, the old person living alone at home can analyze the current conditions through Iot’s three major traits respectively as “Comprehensive perception, reliable communication, and smart transaction” to transmit urgent message to his relatives, or to call the emergency numbers such as 119, 110, or 112, so as to shorten the precious rescuing time, decrease the risk of elders’ accidental death, and avoid causing irreparable results. To comprehend what is the elders’ solitary living cause and their living habits, this research adopts the questionnaire as a studying method and collects the data sent back by elders’ children as the studying sample, then, upon analyses, we utilizes it as a basis to apply IoT Smart Home onto elders’ homecare service.
This study has investigated, analyzed, and explored six perspectives respectively as the basic information, the economical resource, the leisure and pal-making status, and the (information) technological products of caregivers’ parent, as well as the IoT Smart Home applying onto the cognition survey of the elders’ living care service, and of the elders’ living care service burden. Through questionnaires, we have learnt that the cognition of senior citizens to IoT’s technology is generally insufficient, thus, in terms of purchasing products through IoT, it still needs additional time to promote this channel for caregivers and seniors able to accept IoT’s products and services; this is exactly a key point for Taiwan ICT industries and our government to make a further endeavor. The sincere expectation of this research is to popularize elders’ living care service, authentically benefit caregivers and senior citizens, and have one and each of the family members feel easy and rest assured in daily living.
