Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 表演藝術教學碩士學位班 === 104 === This study was aimed to find out the learning effectiveness in relation to the junior high school students of applying Performing Arts in Earthquake Safeguard Education. The purposes for the study were as follows: first, to show the design and practices of integrating “Drama in Education- Mantle of the Expert” into Earthquake Safeguard Education for junior high school students. Second, to evaluate the changes of students learning processes and achievements in Earthquake Safeguard Education after applying “Drama in Education”.
The study was conducted by tracking junior high school students who were in the ninth grade for five weeks. There were three classes as the treatment group taught in Drama in Education and three classes as the control group taught by conventional classroom delivery. The student achievement data was obtained by using scores of the pretests and post-tests. The learning material was about Earthquake Safeguard which was designed by Earth Science of the ninth grade textbook and School Earthquake Safeguard Education. The data analyzed by ANOVA was then used to evaluate the learning effectiveness. Besides, the Earthquake Safeguard Education of Performing Arts learning attitude scale for junior high school students was used as the research tool for observing the changes of student attitudes towards Earthquake Safeguard Education.
In conclusion, the average improvement of the treatment group was more than that of the control group. Moreover, the learning attitude of the treatment group became active and positive after integrating Drama in Education. As a result, it could be concluded that Drama in Education is an effective teaching method for Earthquake Safeguard Education.
