Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 中國音樂學系 === 104 === Sentiment is an appointed piece of the 1995 TCO Annual Competition held by the Taipei Chinese Orchestra, and composed by the Taiwan composer Chen Chung-Sheng. Its first section is completed at 1986, full of oriental musical aroma though particularly applied rhythms, structures, melodic frames of Chopin’s Nocturne in C-sharp minor(op.posth), and presents elegant melodic lines though with tricky techniques concerning articulations, fingerings, harmonics and large intervals. All of the mentioned above have attracted the author’s attention to study this piece.
Through collection and induction of reference materials, it comes to a conclusion that Chen is deeply influenced by his background and study experiences, and thus applies performing skills of the flute, Western composing methods, and traditional elements to his dizi compositions. From three aspects of musical structure, melody and the application of Chopin’s Nocturne in C-sharp minor, the author undergoes the analysis. Concerning analysis of interpretation, according to the musical structure, three distinct sections, theme, episode and cadenza sections, are clarified, and a cross comparison among three performing versions by three different performers is made to get much more references and ideas for interpretation. On the ground of rational analysis and perceptual interpretation, the author endows the piece with vitality.
It’s expected to provide other performers with analysis and interpreting suggestions concerning the piece Sentiment, to be a reference material while people study Chen Chung-Sheng’s compositions, and to derive more performing aspects and thoughts.
