| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 書畫藝術學系 === 104 === Inscribed bone labels are important archaeological discoveries of Han Dynasty epigraphy,reflecting on the development and change of Chinese words during the time, which is significant in the research of writing and calligraphy representation. With the West Han capitol, Chang An City,as the excavation site, this dissertation focus mainly on the inscribed bone labels unearthed at the Weiyang Palace. Contents recorded are documentation of object name,specification, year and names of crafter and officers of crafts and military weapons that were made to supply the central government and palace.
Writing form on the bone labels took on the Qin Dynasty writing, but maintained the structures of seal script, matured hint of clerical script can also be seen, reflecting the traits of transformation from seal script to clerical script. Free-style cursive writing reflects that in some calligraphy there is hint of the later century cursive script. Characteristic of the strokes matches those of the regular script. Inscribed bone labels contains numerous calligraphic techniques, therefore, is highly artistic in the development of Chinese calligraphy.
Through analyzing word structure, use of writing instrument, form, composition and qi of West Han bone labels, close relation between West Han bone labels and Qin Han calligraphy traces can be seen. The combination of ink brush writing and engraving characteristic of bone label and conscience of carving strokes calligraphy, overturned the vague concept of free-style carving, on the other hand, the line reflect the characteristics of modern penmanship, differences can be seen on both sides of the lines, part geometric structure is also another unique trait similar to that of brush calligraphy.
Taking the inscribed bone label calligraphy research and alter it into seal carving creation.Connecting the combination of ink brush writing and engraving of bone label with the concept and ideal of seal carving, through analysis of bone label calligraphy line and composition, using the artistic development of seal carving from calligraphy, there is hope the calligraphy with in seal carving can be brought to light again and at the same time giving Engraving a new possibility within the vocabularies of seal carving creations.
