Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 書畫藝術學系 === 104 === In this paper, of which the topic is ‘Maternity in Visual Art – A Study on the Creation of Chinese Ink Paintings’, I aim to seek my personal art style through the multiple aspects of maternity and to present the creation process of my paintings, my research method, and my research findings. To establish both the Chinese and the Western history of paintings, I review the literature on maternity-themed art works, including literature on the Chinese concept of maternity and the aesthetics of maternity-themed paintings. After that, I go on to analyze the manifestation of maternity in both Chinese and Western paintings, and explain how my creation is based on the analysis. To form the theoretical basis on which I created the paintings, I then discuss theories about the following: art works inspired by spiritual things, the ideas of expressing emotions through objects, and the emotional shift from oneself to objects. Next, in Chapter 5, I combine and apply the above theories to the representation and embodiment of maternity in my paintings. Lastly, I analyze the three series which deals with the representation of mother and child, the embodiment of animal maternity, and the simulation of reality, respectively. The purposes of this paper are threefold: First of all, through the images of maternity, I hope to convey to the modern people the value of art and the importance of mothers, the responsibility of being a mother, and family education. Secondly, I want to raise public awareness of the importance of animal and bird protection. Lastly, I expect to bring out the liveliness of my works and establish my own style through my brush and ink.
