Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 資訊網路與多媒體研究所 === 104 === With the increasing demand for the huge amount of mobile data traffic growth, the Fog radio access network (F-RAN) is one of promising solutions, which extends the computing from the cloud to the edge of the network, in next-generation cellular networks. Accessing the tradditional cloud data cen-ters to obtain service will lead to severely exacerbate bandwidth load in mobile operator core networks, and thus my thesis proposes to adopt the F-RAN sys-tem and the VM replication mechanism to avoid the bottleneck of backhaul network between base stations or cells and minimize the overall backhaul net-work usage. In order to reflect the actual situation in the real-world, the power consumption is also considered into the VM placement problem. Firstly, the optimization problem is formulated to include the VM placement cost and transmission cost, and a priority-based breadth-first VM placement algorithm is proposed. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can signif-icantly reduce the overall backhaul network cost compared with the previous work.
