The purpose of this study was to investigate the causes of juvenile deviance and the effectiveness of applying correctional recreation on juvenile deviance. A total of 151 valid questionnaires were completed and analyzed through SPSS statistical analysis software. The main findings for the causes of juvenile deviance are as follows: (1). rebellious teenager, (2). problematic family structure, (3).low socio-economic status of the family, and (4). low interactions between juveniles and their family members, teachers, friends. The study also found that the effectiveness for applying correctional recreation on juvenile deviance was significant. Further, the effectiveness of one semester’s applications was much better than two semesters’ ones. The high interactions between juveniles and their parents, siblings, and teachers would help increasing the effectiveness of applying correctional recreation on juvenile deviance.
