In the event, it contains religious ritual, expression of local emotion, swing structural art and technical method, resident conscious and community cooperation, entertainment of exercising and competing . With all these elements above, the event has inserted facets, including knowledge, skills, cultural spaces, and society practice, on the basis of religion, and has interweaved the connotation of intangible cultural heritage assets.
Nevertheless, as time changing causing the conversion of environment, society and population structure, Sialutou Swing Festival is also facing problems and crises against natural evolution and caused protections. Thus, with reference to The Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Heritage Preservation Act and focusing on the safeguarding and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, this study researches on the deep-seated cultural and social connotation, and the problems which Sialutou Swing Festival faced due to social changing.
The study first found out the historical context and situation of the Sialutou swing festival via document analysis, observations, and interviews, and then analyzes its cultural connotation and social value. Moreover, it researches on the cultural traits that Sialutou Swing Festival features via the angle of intangible cultural heritage. At last, it finds out an effective method to protect the original cultural connotation of Sialutou Swing Festival and to create it’s modern social value, building on the trend of intangible cultural heritage activation.
