The community pays much attention to the quality of life of these individuals. However, we are concerned about the condition of the social workers who care for these disabled elderly. There is a growing problem of inadequate number of social workers. In addition to focusing on how to induce more social workers to participate in caring for the elderly, we need to care more about the social workers who are currently working in this field of caring for the elderly. To resolve the shortage of talent, reducing worker turnover rate is extremely important. Else, after training inputs, these workers may not be willing to serve. If social workers move in and out of this field frequently, it can lead to several problems for the institutions and their clients. Therefore, this study aims to explore the difficulties faced by workers in institutions and tries to understand their coping skills. In-depth interview was the method adopted for qualitative research in this study. Seven social workers in elderly care institutions were interviewed. The main findings include: 一、From the past experience of the social workers who joined the organization, they encountered transfers and problems that are caused due to multi-professional cooperation. 二、Social workers face problems with the roles assigned to them, the different kinds of work they have to undertake, their professional development, job performance, and psychological adjustment when their care recipient dies. 三、Social workers face different problems when dealing with their clients, with their clients’ families, and when dealing about client/family issues with the agency. 四、Social workers who work with families are plagued with problems such as families’ lack of awareness about the disease, family members’ differing opinions about the decisions taken by them, and in assisting to settle problems between clients’ families and other professional workers from the agency. 五、Social workers also face problems that arise due to multi-professional cooperation; other professionals expect too much from them and do not understand the profession of social work. They proffer different opinions on cases where they work jointly with social care workers in caring for clients and sometimes their professional inadequacy causes problems for the social care workers. 六、Social workers also faced problems at the institutional level, had and system-related troubles, and lacked a proper support system within the power structure of the organization. 七、Social workers faced difficulties related to the government, including problems with the referral system, evaluation system, and long-term care institution system. 八、Social workers' expectations about the future included receiving adequate psychological care, manpower support, and simplified data.
