The experimental instrument consists of two Mega Speed Ms25K cameras (125Hz) that captures the kinematic data from Karate upper Hook Kick motion. The film undergoes the built-in Z4-Zatsiorsky body segmental parameters of Kwon 3D motion analysis system and DLT conversion and quantification to yield relevant kinematics parameters.Outcome: 1. In upper hook kick motion, the motion time of inertial side is 0.24 second the motion time of non-inertial side is 0.47 second. 2. The time for knee raise spin hip period are 73% (inertial side) and 71% (non-inertial side) in motion time, and 29% (inertial side) and 28% (non-inertial side) in attack time, respectively. 3. In upper hook kick motion, the maximum angular velocity of inertial side occurs at 57% (hip), 82% (knee) and 97% (ankle) while the maximum angular velocity of non-inertial side occurs at 57% (hip), 79% (knee) and 96% (ankle), respectively. 4. The kinematic approach for the hip joint, knee joint and ankle joint of upper hook kick motion conforms to the principle of the order of kinetic chain. The above results of kinematic analysis show that the karate upper hook kick motion via inertial side is significantly faster than the non-inertial side.
