But for patients with severe acute limb dysfunction, it’s an extremely difficult challenge. Those paitents commonly needs help to maintain a normal life. But it also becomes an heavy burden for both sides. This study aim to help patients with severe acute can do the operation on home appliances independently by infrared remote control, so they can not only reduce dependence but regain dignity. This study aims to construct an interface, which is ECU(Environment Control Unit), can integrate environment controlling for physically challenged. Hardware and software are applied in ECU containing, 1.Head controlled mouse and its app: Making the connections between Bluetooth and your tablet, so patients can move the mouse pointer on the tablet by swing with its own head in to control functions on tablet successfully.2.Console for ECU: In control of household appliances, infrared transmitter will transmit infrared signals in accordance with the corresponding instructions when the ECU receives console to your tablet via Bluetooth to transmit signals. So household appliances can be controlled successfully. In adding and recording functions, when the ECU receives infrared control codes remitted by Infrared remote control, IR receiver will transmit this control code by Bluetooth and return to your tablet in the form of data to do management data.3.ECU Environmental Control System: An application developing on the Android platform, and it is function to simulate all kinds of home appliances universal remote control, and also can do stockpile management on this system which information return by ECU console. ECU developing by this study has completed prototype design and it is inexpensive, easy to operate, easy to promote. The experimental results confirmed that this system has been widely used value after test by 8 subjects simulated patients. Moreover, this study has test on home appliances for many brands, and test results show that over 90% of products are manipulated successfully, only the other 10% of products must be do few more adjust on Infrared code.
