Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 輪機工程學系 === 104 === When considering the 6-DOF motion of a ship in waves, most of the hydrodynamic force acting on a hull can be calculated using a potential theory. To reduce ship’s roll motion, anti-roll equipment is always installed. Among all the anti-roll equipment, the anti-roll tank is popularly used. The value calculated by potential theory can meet the engineering requirements in common. However, roll damping is significantly affected by viscous effects, especially for the ship with appendages. The flow field is complex in the anti-roll tank, using experience formula could not judge its character accurately. Numerical simulation method based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is becoming a trend, which offers a new way to solve complex issues as ship roll and tank oscillation. In this project, simulation towards an offshore engineering ship’s roll forecast and anti-rolling technology have been done using software Fluent, which based on CFD flow theory.
