Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣海洋大學 === 資訊工程學系 === 104 === In this thesis study, we present an architecture to provide cost-effective NAT (Network-address Translation) services based on multiple NAT servers. The proposed system architecture utilizes MAC-rewrite techniques and integrates a set of (inexpensive) NAT servers to share the NAT operation loadings for each network packets passing between internal/external networks. Potential benefits of the proposed scheme provide a cost-effective NAT service solution to maximize utilization of external network bandwidth especially when multiple external connections are available. We demonstrated that the proposed scheme can be easily deployed with commodity computing servers and NAT servers. Also, we showed in this thesis study the number of sustainable concurrent (http) connections can be boosted effectively as more NAT servers are added, whenever packet processing speed of the NAT servers are far behind the demands.
