Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 健康促進與衛生教育學系 === 104 === Objectives The purpose of this study is to understand the consumption of energy drinks among college students in Taiwan, and to examine its associations with internet addiction and sleep quality. Method This study is a cross-sectional study. We recruited 359 college students in Taiwan who are 20 years old or more. Data came from a self-administered questionnaire. Result 1. Among surveyed students, 20.4% used energy drinks in the past month, and the major reasons included keeping alert at work, preparing for exam, feeling tasty. 2. Males (OR:2.8;95% CI:1.5,4.9) and those with poor sleep quality (OR:2.2;95% CI:1.2,3.8) had a higher odds of using energy drinks. 3. Males had a higher risk of internet addiction than females. 4. The college students who had higher scores of internet addiction scale were more likely to report serious daytime sleepiness and poor sleep quality. 5. There is no significant association between internet addiction and the use of energy drinks.
