In terms of management contents, it focused mainly on creativity, aesthetic presentation and development of space. From industrial scale, majority of interior design operated in micro-enterprises or studio modes with high self consciousness and unique ideas employees. Unlike in the past with flourishing business, the overall interior design industry in Taiwan is now struggling with shrinking market, rising consciousness from owner, competition, recruitment and regulation limitations. One obstacle followed by another. Thus, in addition to established base, interior design companies need further build a complete set of business approach in order to develop more efficient and sustainable strategy of the ground. This study focused on interior design industry business patterns and efficiency by conducting total of 63 in-depth surveys through small to large-scale companies. Through understanding current industry’s staffing, organization structure, operation model and financial management, this study then further analyzed the relationship between hypothesis variables and operating efficiency. Research results: 1. Analysis of the correlation and impact between interior design company operating patterns and efficiency. 2. To verify efficiency of interior design company operation by adopting methods of data envelopment analysis (DEA), stochastic efficient frontier model (SFA) and the regression analysis on technology efficiency by OLS and TOBIT models. 3. Results formulation and assessment recommendations for operation efficiency. This research provided references for interior design-related industry with operating guidance and assessment in response to a long-term trend of business strategy development.
