Sometimes, the idea was prior to the creation, but sometimes the creation was prior to the idea. The development of my study was purely like the Abstract Expressionism in the early stage that was also called action painting. However, the form of cell creations gradually became semi-abstract patterns between concrete and abstract. Besides, the cell creation series went around the image of emotionality and rationality from the mid to the late stage. Therefore, it isn’t important what form seems to be in the end. Instead, my study focuses on the spirit of art which were the meaning of the content and the artistic thought. The artistic thought of my study symbolized the life and death which was associated with birth, old age, sickness and death. The cell series not only presented people’s live but also painted humanity. I believe that the creation of art is free. Accordingly, I use a variety of styles and mediums to express the theme—cells to understand and experience life and death from creation, and to explore the changes of mind and mood of the artist. The cell was a symbol of life, dynamic behavior and vitality. Moreover, it was a symbol of the death, stillness and decay in the nature. The creative works contain the patterns of abstract and concrete. The works of abstract expressed pure color and shape, and the works of concrete delineated real cells under the microscope. Though the space of miniature window under the microscope is invisible to the naked eyes, it still exists. There are many ideas and concepts of artistic creations changing from the past to the future during the vast torrent of time. The research what I want to express is just like ” To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wild flower.” Chu, Yu-Yi 朱友意 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 86 zh-TW |
