However, with socialization and spread of capitalism, rationalism and utilitarianism have made the society functioning as a large machine. People stratified into different social classes are constrained, working like machines and their nerveless thoughts and core values are restricted by conventional rules. Many modern people started to alienate conflictingly from their selves, empting their hearts with ill body and mind. They could only superficially comfort themselves with momentary amusements, but not truly having pure happiness and value of existence. The society and the world, the feast and heaven created by mankind, seem to be harmonic, but are actually with hidden tremendous conflicts and perplexities. Under a gentle presentation, people indulged in searching superficial pleasure, hiding cleverly the oppression and restrains in their hearts, and gradually lost their meaning of existence. The artist made her personal record of the environment and individual differentiation, with a micro-world consisted of plants and animals. In this special imaginary world, the artist philosophizes the mutual relationship between human and nature, and between society and individuals. Through microcosmic view of growth, metamorphosis and interaction in nature, the artist imitated a fantasy journey of the modern social alienation with reconstruction, symbolization or heterogeneous grafting. With series of absurd scenarios, the artist allude the modern people seeking material and spiritual comforts, leading the audience to discover the conflicts and perplexities hidden beneath the illusionary surface and pondering the mutual relation of mankind and the external world.
