In Taiwan, a new job category of “registered aesthetic medicine professional nurse” has been created in aesthetic medical institutions, making more connection between nursing personnel and aesthetic medicine. Due to the lack of related knowledge of aesthetic medicine in Taiwan’s nursing education, registered aesthetic medicine professional nurses should increase their professional competency and know their roles and positions in those institutions to provide more efficient and safer aesthetic medicine nursing care. This study mainly explores professional competency that registered aesthetic medicine professional nurses should require by involving the registered aesthetic medicine professional nurses and the experts in industry, government and academia. The study adopted Modified Delphi Method questionnaires generated by literature analyzing and industrial data collecting, gathered consultative opinions in consecutive three rounds, analyzed the data with descriptive statistics approach each round, and finally collected the empirical data. The research finds that registered professional nurses in aesthetic medicine care require professional competences include 9 Duties, 16 Tasks (including knowledge and skill) and 19 Attitude Competence accordingly. Last, the suggestion has been pointed out for application of professional competency and the lasting researches, to help the industry to build aesthetic medicine professional nurse specifications, to enable educational and training institutions to know what industry needs, to reduce the gap between what is learned in school and what is required in the workplace, and to enhance the development of our nation’s aesthetic medical care.
