碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 台灣文化研究所碩士在職專班 === 104 === Zhou Kai, was an imperial officer assigned to MinNan region during DaoGuang-led Qing dynasty era. Although he had visited to Taiwan twice and passed away during his stay in Taiwan, his influence to Taiwan was not well studied. This article explained his social network to examine his social and political functions, as well as the cultural value to the literati. Chapter one explained the objective, preliminary study, questions to address, supporting materials and methods of this study. Next, the biographical details of Zhou Kai, especially on the impact to his career brought by his family education were discussed. The third chapter focused on the latest literature and reference about Zhou Kai, which is the “twelve scenic spots in Minnan”. In fact, the pictures found in this book were based on true stories happened in his life. Though the study on Zhou Kai and his poetry works, the importance and value of Zhou kai have been studied in detail. In the last chapter, the cultural relationship, and the bibliography of each literati of the same social group with Zhou Kai was discussed. We believe that studies about his peers and students will also lead us to discover more about him and his contribution to Tainan.
