碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 諮商與輔導學系碩士在職專班 === 104 === The main purpose of this research was to study the effect of parenting style on career self-concept, in the case of ninth graders. The participants of the study were 449 ninth grade students in Tainan. The findings were as follows： 1.The students with higher SES (social economic status) have better career value, career ability, career aspiration and career knowledge of career self-concept than those of lower SES. 2.Family structure shows significant impact on students’ career knowledge of career self-concept. 3.Parenting style shows significant impact on students’ career ability, career aspiration and career knowledge of career self-concept. 4.SES is significantly in predicting students’ career value and career ability of career self-concept. 5.The “authoritative” in parenting style is significantly in predicting students’ career ability and career aspiration of career self-concept. 6.The “authoritarian” and the “indulgent” in parenting style is significantly in predicting students’ career knowledge of career self-concept. According to the results, the researcher offered some suggestions for parents, educationists, professional workers and further studies.
