Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 音樂學系音樂科教學碩士班 === 104 === Schubert was a very important romantic music composer in the early nineteenth century. Schubert’s "Sonata in a Minor Arpeggione" D.821, which was composed in 1824, is instrumental music. The arpeggione made by J. G. Staufer, a musical instrument maker in Vienna, was a "guitar-violoncello", shaped like a guitar and combined with the playing way of the cello. However, it disappeared no more than ten years later. To date, it has still been mentioned only because Schubert’s sonata has been widely appreciated by people in the world.
The subject of this study is "Sonata in a Minor Arpeggione". First, it introduces sonatas, the characteristics and development of the arpeggione, and the composer Schubert’s biography and investigates the background and style of his producing this composition. Finally, it analyzes the composition and interprets the playing of viola arrangement published by Henle and make conclusion.
Furthermore, based on the CDs of three famous music players who play this composition with the viola, the cello and the arpeggione, those are compared by the range of playing tone, speed, dynamics, and timbre, respectively. Listening to the composition played with different musical instruments is fun in each, and all of them are close to the original music of the composer. It helps the interpretation of the composition very much.
