Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育學系課程與教學教學碩士班 === 104 === The purpose of this research is to explore the effects of using picture books in teaching curriculum on the development of reading interests among first-grade students, the feasibility of the curriculum, and teachers’ growth and reflection during the process of the action research. Participants in this study were this author’s first-grade students. This author utilized picture books in teaching activities in a flexible course, twice a week for ten weeks. During the course of this research, this author collected and analyzed data of reading interest scale, teacher’s reflection notes, teacher’s observation log, students’ feedback, parents’ questionnaire, school library book lending records; evaluated the effectiveness of teaching; and summarized the conclusions as follows: 1.Picture book teaching program suitable for first graders in the teaching phase consists of curriculum preparation, curriculum implementation, and integrated activities. The teaching process includes nurturing motivation, predicting story plot, storytelling, discussion, reading aloud, playing games, drawing, and other activities. 2.The use of picture book teaching in cultivating first-graders’ reading interests is effective. As a result, the number of students borrowing books from the school library as well as the duration of reading time increased. 3.The use of effective teaching strategies, such as ten-minute morning reading, reading aloud as well as reading together, and storytelling, can increase students’ reading interests. 4.Action research can enhance teachers’ professional growth, increase teachers’ reflective ability, and improve quality of teaching. Based on the conclusions of this research, this author provides suggestions on the implementation of using picture books in teaching curriculum and directions for future research.
