His compositional genres were much beloved by the public, among which the nine Piano Sonatas were some of his most important works throughout his entire life. 《The Piano Sonata No. 7, Op. 83》 was composed starting from 1939, and finished in 1943, during which he went through the 2nd World War. It has become one of the significant piano works of Prokofiev in his late years. This research aims to investigate the background and musical development of Russia during the 19th and 20th century, give a summary of sonatas, the life and background of Prokofiev and the factors that had influenced his composition, his piano music styles, compositional characters and techniques. And then come the music analysis and interpretation of《The Piano Sonata No.7, Op.83》; furthermore, the interpretive research of the performing skills, patterns and harmonic sound in his compositions. After doing this research, I found Prokofiev《The Piano Sonata No. 7, Op. 83》 was deeply influenced by the war. What the work contains fully reflects the composer’s pervading war anxiety and his desire for peace. His compositional techniques include five musical styles: classical, innovative, toccata, lyrical and grotesque. With all his playing techniques, phrase structures, harmony and tonality, he is a man of highly personal style. YANG, MEI-NA 楊美娜 2017 學位論文 ; thesis 109 zh-TW
