Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育學系課程與教學碩博士班 === 104 === The purposes of this study were to explore the effects of summarization strategy pairing with Mandarin courses on senior graders’ reading comprehension ability and summarization skill. This study adopted the pre-experimental design. There are four students participating “After School Alternative Program (ASAP)” chosen from an elementary school in Kaohsiung City, which was administered the “summarization strategy instruction” by the researcher for night weeks. The data was collected with a pretest and a posttest.Research instruments include “reading comprehension filter test” and “summarization skill test,” analyzed by averages and standard deviation. This study also use “summarization strategy learning feedback” in order to understand the idea of summarization strategy teaching for students.
The major findings of the study were manifested as follows:
1.Using summarization strategy on remedial Instruction can enhance senior graders’ reading comprehension ability.
2.Using summarization strategy on remedial Instruction can enhance senior graders’ summarization skill.
3.Students had positive attitude to Summarization Strategy Instruction.
