Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北城市科技大學 === 機電整合研究所 === 104 === Entitled “Regional Vocal Advocated System,” this paper addresses the problem of the family radio service (FRS) currently used by most police, firefighting, and rescuer personnel for communication. Some benefits of using FRS are portability, instant conversations, and use of public channels for free. Unlike WiFi networks, FRS can also be used in case of base station failure. On the other hand, generally speaking, FRS can only transmit voice messages. The present study is based on the assumption that FRS can be used to send and receive voice messages converted from digital signals and that the received signals can then be processed further by computers or other computing devices. Thus, we applied dual-tone multi-frequency(DTMF) signaling to encode the digital signals into voice messages to be transmitted and received by FRS.
This paper focused on how to connect the FRS with the building broadcasting and environmental monitoring, while broadcast messages can be passed by FRS to the users at ordinary times, and the environmental monitoring not only senses the abnormal conditions but transmits the conditions to the monitoring center and other users by FRS. People can tackle problems straight away based on this information while at the time a disaster occurs, asking to rescue workers for help by radios can expand disaster reduction and raise the rescue efficiency.
