The people like interesting and funny things, and amount of product with humor design are loved by the public. This reason caused the research motivation of using the concept of humor design in art instruction for third and fourth graders. Action study and content analysis was adopted, and there were three purposes of the research. First, to discuss the connotation, technique types, characteristics, and the transformative process of humor design. Second, to design the curriculum of humor design for third and fourth graders. Third, to discuss the teaching effectiveness, problems and solutions of humor design during the art instruction. The basis of humor design according to the technique types:(1) simile and metaphor (2) the use of illusion and reverse performance (3) save and juxtaposition (4) exaggeration and repetition (5) movements and facial expressions. Then the researcher explored the transformative process of humor design, used the concept of humor design in art instruction to develop the lesson plan and teaching demo for establishing the new orientation of virtual art for third and fourth graders. Results of the research are as followed: 1.The connotation, technique types, characteristics and the transformative process for the lesson plan of humor design was analyzed. 2.The teaching way of humor design in art instruction can be the possible teaching program for third and fourth graders. 3.Humor design in art instruction for third and fourth graders has positive effect. 4.The problems and solutions of humor design in art instruction for third and fourth graders are provided.
