"Dieting" is the basic demand of biological survival. Since ancient times, to satisfy dietary requirements, humans also followed the pattern of natural environment to develop various agriculture and food culture. But since the industrial revolution, modern society increasingly turns to specialization; and to respond to the rapid change of society, the traditional agriculture and food culture is also confronted with drastic changes.
The trend of production specialization, technicalization and business globalization gradually makes the traditional rural culture in the past fade away; the originally self-sufficient food source on family tables is also replaced by emerging food industry, which also lengthens the distance "from the original place to the table". In recent years, the outbreak of food safety scandal also exposed the consumers' ignorance of the original flavor of food as well as the food source, and the fact that some of the producers ignore public and environmental health in order to pursue interests. Facing food safety as well as agriculture and environmental problems, although people of all walks of life have begun to formulate various preventive measures, however, education is the foundation of the state. Therefore, "food and agriculture education" is a fundamental way to improve the quality of national life.
