Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 諮商與應用心理學系碩士班 === 104 === The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a mindfulness-based intervention program on reduction in parenting stress, anxiety and depression for parents of children with special needs. The method to carry out this study was using a quasi-experimental design. The participants in this study were 11 parents of children with special needs. 5 participants were assigned to the experimental group and 6 participants were assigned to the control group at radom. The experimental group attended a 90-minute mindfulness-based intervention program per week for six weeks while the control group was provided with stress management handout (CD). At the pre-test, post-test and the follow-up test, the participants completed the “Parenting Stress Index(PSI-SF)”, “ State-Trait Anxiety Inventory Form-T” and “CES-D”. The Wilcoxon-Mann-Whiney test was performed to interpret whether the differences between the scores of two groups significant. Finally, researcher collected qualitative data such as unit feedback sheets, homework records, group reflections records and individual interviews that were collected from experimental group members for reference. The results indicated that after attending mindfulness-based intervention program the group, experimental participants not only reduced their depression immediately and state anxiety but also got persistent assistance by practicing mindfulness. However, the experimental participants didn’t reduce parenting stress, anxiety and the depression immediately without practicing mindfulness. According to the qualitative date, the participants in the experimental group reported significantly increased self-awareness, parent-child relationship, extended psychological resilience and self-healing.
