Furthermore, this study investigates the disparities of singing learning interests and vocal characteristics among the seventh, eighth, and ninth graders. This research is a case study. Participants were from one seventh-grade class, one eighth-grade class, and one ninth-grade class at the Beautiful-Voice Junior High School in Taichung City. The total number of participants of this study was 103, including 16 boys and 16 girls at seventh grade, 16 boys and 18 girls at eighth grade, as well as 18 boys and 19 girls at ninth grade. The researcher utilized a researcher-designed questionnaire, named as Singing Learning Interests Survey, group interviews and Vocal Characteristics Records to collect data. The ways of triangulation and member-checking were used to improve the validity of research data. Based on the findings of this study, regarding singing learning interests, it can be concluded: 1. In general, participants possess singing learning interests. 2. There are significant differences among different genders in their singing learning interests. The singing learning interests of girls are better than that of boys. 3. There are no significant differences among 7-9 grades' students. 4. Physical changes obviously influence singing learning interests of boys; however, it is not found in girls'. 5. There are different factors that influence singing learning interests of different genders. The phenomena are multiple and various as they show their singing performances. 6. Giving appropriate singing environments and situations enhance students' singing learning interests. 7. Song content and genre are imperative variables that influence students' singing learning interests. Regarding vocal characteristics of students, the singing range distribution of boys is bigger than that of girls. There is a consistency showed on the singing range distribution of girls. Moreover, The vocal characteristics of different genders are distinct. The singing tone quality of girls is better than that of boys.
